Ice cream + difficult
That is all.
That is all.
It seems sometimes that people who claim to be friends forget that friendships require two people to maintain them. And more than once a year conversations.
Found a 100 Greatest Comedy Movie list online and decided to attempt to start a meme.
Any movie you've seen on the list should be boldfaced.

These six need names.
They will be used in battle, but don't let that dissuade you from the inane.
We seem to be on the right path to curb illegal immigration. The US Dollar is weak, the economy is floundering and jobs are disappearing left and right. Surely, this unavailability of the "American Dream" will dissuade citizens of developing nations from crossing our borders to "steal our jobs".
The exchange rate from US Dollars to Mexican Pesos is currently 1 to 10.5. That is, 10.5 pesos equal 1 dollar. Now, a Coke in Mexico costs 3 pesos or 29 cents. How much did you pay for your Coca-Cola from the local Krauszer's?
Let's keep destroying our economy, America! That's how we'll get these Mexicans out!
At least they have an option...

I know I'm going to be cursed out for not having seen Mars Attacks!, but why didn't anyone tell me it opens with a stampeding herd of flaming cattle?!
While I did not post nearly as much as I had intended to, the Anti-Strike was victorious!
Also, I was recently informed that the originator of the Content Strike crossed the imaginary line betraying her compatriots by logging into LJ and posted an Abuse Report against someone who had emailed her offering to hack LJ's servers. That's right, even the person who first mounted the high horse couldn't remain true to her own cause. What does that say about the cause? To me, it says that the cause was worthless in her eyes. How many people joined the Content Strike and spread the word around like some malicious STD didn't actually care about the cause? I'd venture a guess that most just cared about their own popularity and the opinion of their vapid readers.
Point of interest: This appears to be William H. Macy weekend on TBS as tonight is Jurassic Park III and tomorrow night is Sahara (with limited commercial interruption).

Found a nice piece of software last night that I didn't post about because I was tired.
Data Crow allows you to catalog your collections of books, DVDs, CDs, software, video games and much more. Best part? It's FOSS.
Also, everyone should check out In His Likeness</>, the best deity webcomic and one of the best overall on the internet. Even better than CAD, PVP and Penny Arcade. Check it out!

Apparently, with less people posting on LJ now, I'm more likely to get picked by the "salmon-bot". If you don't know what that is, it's a bot that randomly connects two people who've updated their LJs via AIM and each person sees the other as some ____Salmon screenname. Now, normally this is harmless fun, but the people running this bot watch the conversations and sometimes jump in to harrass one or both parties. After making this post, I wouldn't be surprised if I get salmoned again.

This is the sort of things that I'll be posting during the Anti-Strike.
| VoicePost 350K 1:46 | “Hello Readers, just just giving you a heads up on about tonight starting at 8:00 Eastern Standard Time. I and several of our friends, I wish you guys would too. Would start posting as much as possible for the next 24 hours. That's from 8:00 tonight to 8:00 tomorrow night Eastern Standard Time. This is going to be the anti strike. We are going to put the kibash(?) on this content strike. I feel that we are being ignored because the people who are, the people who are bitching and complaining are the paid users. Not the basic users will be not effected at all by this by this content changes or the the plus unit users like me who or have been living with the ads for quite a while. It's the paid users. The people who don't freaking matter. They have paid their dues and yet their still bitching because why general is changing for somebody else. This is making no sense to me. So I am leaving the opposition. I want everybody, everybody to low in post, post, post, post, post. Just post as much as you can. Jamie Hatton, I know you have, you have all of your fans. Get them on live turn, get them to start posting. Get them to post all day, 24 hours. We're gonna do this, we're gonna make this a phenomenal. Do not turn off your turn off your RSS(?) feed don't not turn off your ___ feeds leave everything on. We will be victorious. Talk to you guys later.” Auto-Transcribed Voice Post - spoken through SpinVox |
On Friday 21 March 2008, from midnight to midnight GMT, there will be a content strike on LiveJournal to protest the recent changes regarding Basic account registration. I, for one, will not be participating. I will make a point to post more in those 24 hours than I have in the past few months, be the posts meaningless bullshit or insightful prose. I will not succumb to the peer pressure put forth by a coalition consisting of mostly Paid account holders.
I believe that ad-support is good for LiveJournal. My LJ blog is ad-supported and I don't care. Yes, LiveJournal is making money off our posts, but we agreed to let them when we agreed to the Terms of Service. Also, as anyone who has tried to pay for a site with advertising can attest, ad revenue is infinitesimally insignificant. Paying for the server farm that is necessary to house all the data generated by the bloggers is, I'm sure, no short order. There are over 15 million accounts registered on LJ, only a small portion of which are actually active (1.75 million) and a large portion of those accounts have never posted once (9.15 million).
If you are unfamiliar with the Terms of Service you agreed to when you joined LiveJournal, why should anyone else have to deal with your complaints because you failed to read the document you were agreeing to?
PS. If you have that much a gripe with the ads, download AdBlock Plus.
